Folding and Unfolding
Acrylic and collageon board by Sylvie Field
Part of her 'Northumberland Series' exploring the geology of our coastline. This range of work is based on the magnificent section of coast between Howick and Culernose Point where rocks, cliffs and reefs were formed by molten rock and earthquakes. This piece is based on the lower foreshore where the sandbank limestone is thrown into several "whale-back" folds.
